Before the modern era, many working-, middle-, and upper-class Brits would take what was known as high tea. It would come in the late afternoon or early evening, giving workers, merchants, and schoolchildren the opportunity to sit down to a tea service that included meats, sweets, pastries and, of course, tea, before their aristocratic counterparts would sit down for a more formal dinner later in the night.

High tea is a British tradition, and we are bringing it back by holding high tea service at our location on the corner of California and Hutchins streets in Lodi. Our bakery, though small, transforms into an elegant, intimate tea room, complete with window sheers, fresh-pressed linens and china.

Our High Tea Service

The High Tea service is distinguished not just because it’s the only event of its kind in the area, but because everything we serve is made from scratch in our bakery. The scones, quiches and lemon curd are among a few treats to look forward to. We know they will make your high tea an experience not to be forgotten! The Hidden Tea Room can also be reserved for interest groups/organizations, call for more information.
